Bob and the Boys Farm Market first opened in 1985, starting as a place to sell what was grown right on the family farm. Back then, it was more of a working farm, but over the years the market grew into the heart of the business. Today, most of our produce is sourced from local farmers with many from the Annapolis Valley and surrounding area and we work directly, one-on-one, with the people who grow the food.
In 2002, Bob retired and passed the market on to his son Chris and his wife Pam, who continue to run it today. Chris’s brother David also played a big role over the years, growing vegetables for the market and making regular trips to pick up fresh local produce until his retirement in 2021. Their sister Debbie has been part of the market since day one (over 40 years) and remains a familiar face to many of our customers.
While family is at the core of what we do, they’re not the only ones who make the market special. Many of our staff have been with us for years and are known for their friendly service and experience. Over time, our customers have become like family too, and getting to know the people who walk through our doors is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
